Live Music - A full line-up of brilliant party tunes and serious live music across 2 arenas. Whatever floats your boat, there’s bound to be something to make you boogie at Big Bang 2011, including 70’s and 80’s pop, live bands playing modern rock and indie, and DJs spinning club classics and dance anthems. Live Comedy - Head to Fuelers Bar on Saturday afternoon for some top stand up comedy.

Fireforce Jet Car - This is the fastest jet car in the world but driver, Martin Hill, makes 6-second quarter-mile runs look easy. With the motor generating the equivalent of 10,000bhp, just being able to see straight under this kind of acceleration is a major task!

Monster Truck - Back at Big Bang, the Podzilla Monster Truck will delight kids and big kids with it’s awesome car-crushing show of strength.

Vander Space Wheel - The Vander brothers from South Africa started out on the Flying Trapeze before performing on the Space Wheel throughout Europe. The steel Wheel is 11 meters long, 1 person gets in each ring and with body momentum they get the Wheel to start spinning. (Sat & Sun)

Clubs - Club camping areas are available to book with discounts available on large group bookings. View full details and download a booking form on the Clubs page.

The first clubs to book for Big Bang 2011 are:

•Lo 'E' Nuf Vee Dub Club
•Zwindon Luftscule
•Der Blitzen Sphincters
•Phat Dub Club/Splitterz
•KUDC
•Ditch Dubbers
•Valley Vee Dubbers
•Herts VW Club / Dunstable Dubbers
•North East VW Club
•Outcasts
•Fun Dubbin Kriminals
•PKW

Human Powered Racing (Sat 1:30pm)

Saturday lunchtime fun on the dragstrip: Strictly no engines of any description allowed, but this is still going to be a competitive and hard-fought race with a prize for the winner. Use your ingenuity to cover half a mile as quickly as possible. You might want to try and run it, skate it, cycle it, or use a power kite and mountain board. Just turn up at the start line 15 minutes before the race and use your brains or brawn to take the prize!

Camping for All - Separate campsites for “VW Camper & Bus”, Family Camping, Club Camping, Quiet Camping and General Camping.

Handling Track - A short but tight auto-test circuit to show who’s in charge at the wheel. This was tremendous fun last year, and once again it’s free to enter and open to all VWs. Weave in and out of
the cones and then reverse-park your way to victory! All runs are timed, and the fastest of the day takes home a trophy. Free to enter, road legal VWs only, driving licence needed. (Saturday only)

BMX Ramp - Pro riders will be putting on regular demonstration shows on the Big Bang BMX ramp over the weekend. The ramp will also be open for public sessions each day.

Stunt Driver - Top international stunt driver Terry Grant will be pushing his fleet of cars to the limit in the Action Arena and also trying to set a world record for the quickest 1/4 mile on two wheels.

Wheelie Fire Truck - The Guinness World Record holding "Backdraft" Wheelie Truck is totally unique, a 20 ton fire engine that puts on a wheelie pulling, dancing and pivoting, fire breathing show.

Jet Beetle - Using a real VW Beetle as a base, and then fitted with a jet motor instead of the flat four, Ronnie Picardo has seriously upped the power and noise-levels of the original vehicle.

In addition to a show of jet power on the track, this year Ronnie will also be using his firepower to blow up a caravan!

Wheelie Split - Ronnie will also be bringing along the latest addition to his fleet of show vehicles, so look out for a wheelieing split!

Baja and Buggy Course (Day & time tbc)

Take your off-road dub for some mild fun in the dirt. A short grass and dirt track will include fun corners and gentle bumps to let you get your kicks and show off your ride. Free entry for all suitable vehicles.

Fun Fair Rides - Come out and play at the fun-fair, then stuff your face with candyfloss.

Fireworks Display - Something new for Big Bang in 2011 will be a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday evening. (9pm)

Guitar Hero & Singstar Competitions - The ever popular "Guitar Hero" competition will be back again on Friday evening and this year there will also be a "Singstar" competition on Saturday evening, both in Fuelers Bar.

So if you think you've got what it takes to win at either game then entry is free but turn up early as it gets busy. (Times TBC)

Kids Entertainment - There will be plenty going on for youngsters, including a kids area with face painting and ceramic workshops, kids entertainers roaming around site and even a kids disco!

Graffiti Artist - For the past 20 years Jonnie Barton's contribution to the UK graffiti scene is immeasurable – and we have secured him for BB 2011! His development of lettering styles, combined with his technical skill and original flair has kept him as a primary influence for many graffiti writers worldwide and is hands down one of the most prolific artists within the scene today. Make sure you go and visit him spraying a VW Beetle. (Sat & Sun)

Circus Whiz - The very best interactive circus skills workshop for all the family: set in a fun packed inflatable circus ring with two entertainers. Learn how to juggle balls, clubs, diablos, devil sticks; spin a rope or plate; walk on pedal-gos, cup or fun stilts or just come and play. (Sat & Sun).

On Friday evening there will also be face-painting, balloon modeling & a short comedy magic show. (5pm-7pm, Fuelers Bar, Friday)

AutoTrader Cars For Sale Paddock - Just like the small ads, but instead of a little picture, you get to look at the whole car! Free for buyers and sellers. Just turn up on the day.

Trade Village - As always there will be a huge variety of traders selling; VW parts, new and vintage clothes, festival supplies, jewellery and more! Also, check out the Pod Shops for daily essentials and Big Bang merchandise.

Autojumble is your chance to find rare & vintage parts for your classic Vee-Dub.

BBMF Flypass

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be making a fly past at Big Bang with a WWII Lancaster on Sunday 8th May. Time tbc.

World’s Fastest Mobility Scooter Demo

This crazy granny machine broke records here at Santa Pod Raceway last October smashing the previous world record by 10.1 mph, reaching a top speed of 71.59 mph! The master mind behind this is 32 year old Colin Furze, a plumber from Lincolnshire and wanna be stunt driver. The official Guinness World Record holder has competed many other stunts including a homemade Wall of Death, a flame throwing scooter and is currently building the world’s longest scooter at 72 ft!

Big Bang Bring & Buy Auction (Sat eve)

We’re hosting the 2nd Big Bang auction in 2011, were everything has its price. Got something unusual to sell? Rare vehicle parts and accessories, old bikes, the wife’s knickers… if you can bring it to the auction, we can sell it for you and convert it to £££. If you’re after a bargain or just a good laugh, make sure you’re there with a few quid in your pocket to place a bid. No bidders, buyers or sellers fees at all! It’s completely free. We’ll start off with a few things from Santa Pod (proceeds going to Air Ambulance), such as jet car parts and Big Bang hoodies, then the public lots will follow. If you’ve got something to sell, complete the Contact Form and we’ll list the lots here in advance.

The Dalek Squad

Be prepared to come face to face with these extraterrestrial genetically manipulated mutants as you walk around site and don't miss the lunch time Dalek race on the track.

Campervan Cook-Off! (Sat daytime)

Back for 2011 the fun-filled deep-fried madness of the campervan cook-off returns. Put your camp-kitchen into overdrive for a race against the clock and all things held holy to proper chefs. Entry and prize details to come.

Radio Controlled Cars - A variety of 1/10th scale electric radio controlled VW cars including drift cars will be racing on a special track where the public will be able to test their skills along with the experts.

Bike Trials - Chris Doney rides his bike over obstacles that most people would struggle to climb over. He calls his stunt show “Zero Gravity” but the reality is that his stunts are performed in exactly the same gravity as everything else on this planet, which makes it all the more remarkable! (Sat & Sun)

2 Seater Dragster - For the ultimate thrill ride, the 7 second Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be running at Big Bang with passenger rides available for £300. Details at www.santapod.com.

Nitro FM 96.2 - Based in Race Control and broadcasting live during Big Bang. Listen to track commentary as it happens with driver interviews and competitions. Nitro FM want you to get involved when they're on air - text POD followed by your message to 88222, with questions, messages or just request your favourite tune.
