Mini Rocketman Concept Gets Production Nod

All you Mini fans out there, here we have something special for you. The company is reported to have approved the production of its Rocketman concept. The entry-level model comes up with a 3+1 seating arrangement, center-mounted exhaust and two-piece tailgate with a lower section that opens like a kitchen drawer.

As you know, Rocketman concept draws inspiration from the original 1959 Mini and measures a compact 3,419mm long, 1,907mm wide and 1,398mm tall. Further, it features a wraparound greenhouse, a glass roof (with optical illumination), LED headlights, projector-style taillights, and 18-inch lightweight wheels.

All set to be launched in 2014, the Rocketman concept is expected to offer a new range of three-cylinders. Is there any chance for an EV variant too?

  1. Looks fantastic, I cannot wait for these to go on sale in the UK, I will certainly be very interested, even more so if EV technology has been improved and is incorporated into a Rocketman version.
