Mazda 2011 BT-50 Pickup Shown in Australia

At the Australian Motor Show, Mazda showed off its 2011 BT-50 pickup, which is reportedly based on the Ford Ranger. The truck was seen to have a very individualistic front exterior, with fenders that immediately catch the eye and wrap-around taillights.

The exterior toes the Nagare design line that Mazda was using, and the cabin is quite sporty without compromising on elegance. The interior is straightforward, no frills, and the center console looks much like the console of a car. Also visible is metallic trim, and classy radio and climate controls.

There has been no word from Mazda about the engine, but sources say it will probably be choices that include a 110 kW (150 PS / 148 hp) 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi I4, a 147 kW (200 PS / 197 hp) 3.2-liter Duratorq TDCi I5, and a 122 kW (166 PS / 164 hp) 2.5-liter Duratec I4 petrol.
